The provisions of Local Supply services and provisions are a frequently discussed topic, especially for smaller communities within the rural regions of Europe who can be affected by the lack of basic requirements simply because of their geographical location. This topic has been adopted by a Community Network (CN) known as “Bürger Nah Versorgung” who holds a series of workshops between partner communities from 12 EU-countries. The results of these workshops are discussed and considered under a comprehensive communication strategy and relayed to key decision policy makers within regional and EU organisations. Areas of concern such as ‘waste management’ and the ‘health & integration of our senior citizens should be transformed into opportunities for improvement and development; this would then allow pioneering examples of good practice to be implemented into local communities. The target groups of this project are the citizens of these smaller communities and the involvement of regional politicians and the local providers of social, economical and environmental services. The CN will also publish the results of this project to a wider audience and cooperate fully with local and regional associations (e.g.: senior citizens groups). In addition to National and Leader Networks including Members of the European Parliament, the CN will keep everyone fully informed about the project progress. In addition to regular press releases and a website, a documentary with an accompanying DVD will be provided.
The longevity of collaboration is guaranteed with the conclusion of the Formal Twinning agreement; with a feasibility study for an office network entitled "Local Supply and Shopping” as provided by mobile ambassadors. |
