Im Kulturdorf Europas laufen die Vorbereitungen für die kommende Veranstaltung "Geh´n ma Garten schau´n" auf Hochtouren. In der Zeit vom 3. bis 6. Juni öffnen mehr als 40 Besitzer ihre grünen Paradiese der Öffentlichkeit. Viele Kirchheimerinnen und Kirchheimer beteiligen sich an dieser Aktion. Auch öffentliche Plätze werden in Schaugärten umfunktioniert. Die Schule gibt Auskünfte über ihren naturnahen Schulgarten. Ethnologie Studenten aus Wien gestalten einen eigenen Ethnologie Garten und Studenten von der Kunstuniversität Linz "bespielen" eine Woche vor der Gartenschau das alte Sattlerhaus. Am 2. Juni findet dann gemeinsam mit der Kunstuniversität ein Künstler-Symposium statt. Das Gesamtkunstwerk "Sattlerhaus" kann während der Gartentage besichtigt werden.

On Monday 10 May 2010 (14 - 16:30hrs) the 13th European Meeting of the Upper Austrian Communities will take place in Kirchheim in Innkreis, the ‘European Cultural Village  2010’.  This time the topic to be discussed is the "The future of the Village in Europe" and MEP Dr. Ernst Strasser has confirmed his participation will also deliver a keynote address.  Prior to the meeting there will be an attractive Church program for delegates to enjoy.

In Kirchheim, preparations for the Europe Weekend are in full swing; on Saturday there will be a comfortable afternoon for the older generation which begins with a stroll around our Cultural Village" ending up in the Festival Hall (located within the business property of local businessman Gerald Reich). Under the title of ‘Café 60 Plus’ they will be offered a varied and interesting program, including a report from the regional Caritas Office by Mrs. Berta Burghuber on experiences from the Netherlands. In the evening there will be a fashion show based on traditional and local costume, with Mayor Karl Pumberger Kasper as moderator. Musical entertainment until late into the night will be provided by the TFB Young Farmers group!
The celebrations on Sunday the 9^th of May begin with a ‘field’ Church Service at 9am followed at 10am by a brunch with more musical entertainment provided by the “Wadlbeisser’s”. As a component of the European Office of the State of Upper Austria as the Regional Office of the Youth in Action; the 27 EU member states will be presented by 27 Young Ambassadors from various schools in the region. As it is also Mothers Day, all mothers will receive a small gift, we also have a children’s program including a bouncy castle, face painting and a fantastic balloon launch.

Friday 26 – Sunday 28^th March 2010:  The representatives of the 12 cultural villages came together to launch the first conference in Kirchheim im Innkreis – the Cultural Village of Europe 2010.  On Friday evening; 15 international teachers and directors from Brussels, Italy, Hungary, and Austria (HBLA Ried im Innkreis ) arrived and presented the “Comenius Program” to the conference delegates.  This group proved to be a valuable asset for all of us and we would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their willingness to participate in our conference and for delivering their project so professionally.  A ‘vote of thanks’ must also go to Mr. MMag. Roland Schwarz from the HBLA Ried (who organised the visit to Kirchheim) and to Mr. Jean-Pierre Bartholeyens from Brussels who informed us about the 2-year project known as "Water around Towns” and the project “Comenius”.  For more information on this projects, please visit the homepage:
